- ➤ Local leaders recommend the governor form a commission to decide the long-term structure for Ringling, New College and USF — the plan seeks to address enrollment growth, campus upgrades and clearer leadership roles. - ➤ On July 21, the Sarasota City Commission unanimously approved staff recommendations to clarify the vacation rental ordinance after learning it does not cover all neighborhoods in mixed-use zones (such as Gillespie Park).
