- ➤ At a Dec. 2 groundbreaking in downtown Sarasota, Selby Gardens started Phase 2 of its master plan on 15 prime acres to add a hurricane resistant conservatory, a new learning pavilion and expanded gardens to protect its living collections; the work will finish in 2028. Observer
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Riverview High baseball mentors ended the Riverview Readers program with a pizza & Italian ice party at Southside Elementary on Dec. 9. The program, which has grown to 39 mentors since 2022, built strong ties between high schoolers and kindergartners through weekly sessions that blended academics and fun activities. Observer
