- ➤ The 39th Holiday Boat Parade of Lights runs Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. on Sarasota Bay—attendees are encouraged to view at Bayfront Park and bring cash or toy donations. Visitors may reserve tables at Marina Jack or enjoy live music at O’Leary’s Tiki Bar and Grill. Sarasota Herald-Tribune

- ➤ The Sarasota Ballet will perform Jazz Calendar, Divertimento No. 15, and Mozartiana (its company premiere) at the Sarasota Opera House on Dec. 19 and 20. Tickets start at $35 and are available online. Observer

- ➤ The City of Sarasota straightened a 60 ft osprey perch at the bay side edge of Ken Thompson Park on City Island last week after Hurricane Milton damaged it as part of ongoing repairs. Observer

- ➤ Hudson River Foods recalled 12-ounce packages of Doughy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough — sold in 15 states including Florida — for potential salmonella contamination per an FDA report. The recall applies to products with a best by date of July 4 and remains in effect. Sarasota Herald-Tribune
