- ➤ Big Top Brewing at Fruitville Commons will soon unveil an expanded brew house (featuring a new four-vessel system) that is set to more than triple beer production. Customers will be able to tour the brewing process and enjoy weekly beer releases as production ramps up. Observer
- ➤ Jason Huh, a Lakewood Ranch High graduate and entrepreneur, has introduced his healthy soda Sodi Pop at his alma mater. The beverage, which includes vitamins B12 and C and ginger extract without sugar or caffeine, is now available to students on campus. Observer

- ➤ Select theaters are screening the movie-length 'Stranger Things' season 5 finale in Sarasota (Regal Hollywood) and Bradenton (AMC Bradenton 20) on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at 8 p.m. ET, and tickets can be purchased online for the two-hour-30-minute final chapter. - ➤ Sarasota and Manatee counties host holiday events this month — from the Wonderland Circus at University Town Center starting Nov. 21 to a downtown parade on Dec. 6 and boat parades with festive lights. Sarasota Magazine

- ➤ TECO is installing a new gas main on Longboat Key's Gulf of Mexico Drive as crews work nightly to adjust for a dredging project. Road and sidewalk closures occur nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. until Dec. 20 with work resuming Jan. 5 + safety measures in place. Observer
- ➤ FEMA reimbursed Sarasota and Manatee Counties over $30,000,000 each for storm debris cleanup following last year's hurricanes. Officials reported that 2.4 million and 4.8 million cubic yards of debris were collected while repair costs surpassed $200,000,000 in each county. ABC 7

- ➤ Sarasota Memorial Health Care System has completed over 20,000 robotic surgeries using the da Vinci system across multiple specialties — the milestone reflects nearly 20 years of innovation that began in 2006 with the first da Vinci robot and now involves 35 robotic surgeons operating across two hospital campuses. - ➤ During Nov. 17 to 21, a Bird Key home on Mourning Dove Drive sold for $6.55 million, topping multiple residential transactions across Longboat, Lido and St. Armands. Additional deals ranged from $315,000 to $4.5 million+ as the local market showed diverse pricing. Observer

- ➤ Roberto Burlew signed a pro contract with Sarasota Paradise on Nov. 26 — the club’s first returning player from its semipro team — and the 23-year-old defender will help the team in League One as it gears up for its inaugural professional season. Observer
- ➤ On Dec. 3, Cardinal Mooney and Booker held ceremonies celebrating 11 early signees (committing to college programs) as the NCAA early signing period began. The teams will face state semifinal opponents on Dec. 5. Observer
- ➤ Booker High football will play a state semifinal rematch with Raines on Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at William M. Raines High School. The team, which is 12-1 and known for its strong defense, is two wins away from its first state title since 2005. Observer
