  • New and expecting parents in Sarasota can save on baby essentials this Black Friday with deals on diapers, clothes, high chairs, swaddles and strollers. Offers from retailers (Walmart, Target, Amazon, Gunamuna and Crate & Barrel) began earlier or are available in stores today and will continue through Cyber Monday.  Sarasota Herald-Tribune
  • Sheltair Aviation opened its 64,705-square-foot facility at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, marking the 16th fixed-base operator in its network. The company invested $40 million to create modern amenities and 46,000 square feet of aircraft storage— boosting services for general aviation.  Observer
  • Tim Norwood launched Sea Salt Florida to produce sea salt from barrier islands like Siesta, Longboat and Lido Key using a natural process that takes seven weeks. His licensed operation collects ocean water free of microplastics and ensures each salt blend carries its unique local flavor—offering a high-quality alternative to mined salt.  Observer

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Between Nov. 10th and 14th, several high-value homes in Sarasota, Siesta Key, Palmer Ranch, Osprey, and Nokomis changed hands—highlighted by a Siesta Key home on Shell Road selling for $6.6 million to new Sarasota buyers. The sale marked the week’s highest price among comparable residential transactions in the area.  Observer

  • Riverview High junior Miles Przekwas—known for his quiet demeanor—led the defense this season with nine sacks and 10 tackles for loss and earned his first NCAA Division I offer from Eastern Kentucky. Coach Mark Cristiani praised his strong work ethic and expects him to build on this success as he prepares for a bigger role next season.  Observer
  • On November 27, 4,558 runners competed at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota in the Florida Turkey Trot, raising funds for the park conservancy & Big Bill Foundation. Local racers, including a costumed runner who finished 42nd, added extra spirit to the event.  Observer
