  • Streets of Paradise fired co-founder Greg Cruz without cause in a brief board meeting, saying the change was needed to bring more structure and focus to the homeless nonprofit. Supporters expressed anger online—saying Cruz was the heart of the group.  Sarasota Herald-Tribune

  • Over 500 mourners gathered at Grace Community Church on Sept. 5 to honor 5-year-old Zaria Miller, who tragically died when a water main break pulled her into a storm drain after her birthday on Aug. 24—her family remembering her love for dancing, pretty dresses and jiu-jitsu—while they hold on to faith that she is at peace.  Sarasota Herald-Tribune
