- ➤ Newtown residents in Sarasota are piloting a trauma-informed community model via the Neighborhood Resilience Project—led by Father Paul Abernathy and local experts—to help heal neighborhoods that have long faced structural challenges. The pilot will begin this fall and will track wellness data with a new assessment tool to empower residents to shape their own future. Sarasota Magazine
- ➤ Today, The Patterson Foundation donated $500,000 to the Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund operated by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to support long-term recovery in Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. The gift now brings the fund’s total to more than $10.2 million and will help rebuild homes and provide vital services as hurricane season nears. Sarasota Herald-Tribune

- ➤ Sarasota County’s new CAD system went live on May 20 to replace a 20-year-old platform and help dispatchers send real-time alerts—shortening emergency response times and easing work for first responders. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Darwin Tepe at Senior Friendship Centers uses data to show that programs for seniors keep them healthy and save taxpayers money—he analyzed fall prevention savings and reduced long-term care costs while inspiring new talks with legislators.
