- ➤ The Patterson Foundation donated $500,000 to the Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund, which has raised over $10.2 million to support long-term hurricane recovery efforts across several local counties — the contribution will help residents prepare for the season. Sarasota Herald-Tribune
- ➤ Longboat Island Chapel held a drive on Aug. 19 where donors gave athletic shoes, socks and shoelaces to support families at Daughtrey Elementary through Stillpoint Mission—helping students start the new school year. The church will host a new event on Sept. 16 to collect men's clothing for Sarasota's Resurrection House, Inc.—offering further relief to local at-risk individuals. Observer
