- ➤ Sarasota police investigated a deadly crash on U.S. 41 near N Tamiami Trail and Gary St that killed one pedestrian on July 22 and closed lanes in both directions—drivers are advised to take alternate routes. FOX 13

- ➤ Brothers Alexander, Brendan and CJ Telfair have launched separate companies in chiropractic and construction serving Sarasota, Longboat Key and St. Armands—drawing on a family legacy started by their father and grandfather. Observer
- ➤ Lakewood Ranch residents Chris and Megan Matras will open a new Jeff’s Bagel Run on Aug. 23, serving grab-and-go bagels with 16 flavors at a fixed price of $2.25 per bagel. - ➤ Town of Longboat Key began a $500,000 project at Bayfront Park this week to install a living wall that will give oysters, crabs, and other filter feeders a new home. The 300-foot wall uses digitally printed concrete panels modeled after mangrove roots—designed to withstand waves—and may lead to similar projects along other shorelines. Observer
