- ➤ The Gulf Coast Community Foundation awarded a $150,000 grant to CareerEdge to support fast-track training programs and on-the-job training under the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce initiative. - ➤ The Sarasota school district is moving forward with several construction projects as the new school year nears, including the new Skye Ranch School that will open soon, a sports field house renovation at Booker High, updates at Sarasota High, and a high school in Wellen Park underway. Other projects include expanding McIntosh Middle’s farm, replacing Garden Elementary after Hurricane Ian, and starting a new elementary in Lakewood Ranch next year+ officials say these upgrades will help the district meet changing enrollment needs.
