- ➤ Four brothers run Dakin Dairy Farms near Myakka City where they produce 8,000 gallons of milk a day for local outlets including Publix, Detwiler’s Farm Markets and Sarasota Memorial Hospital. - ➤ Longtime supporters Jack and Priscilla Schlegel donated $10 million to help build a new Music Center on Fruitville Road, following a $50 million anonymous gift earlier this year. - ➤ The Barancik Foundation has opened applications for the TIME Fellowship, offering up to $12,000 to Sarasota County Schools educators to pursue personal projects that renew their teaching passion — teachers, assistant principals, and principals must meet eligibility criteria with a deadline of Sept. 29.
