- ➤ The Sarasota County Sheriffs said a brush fire in a wooded area behind CVS at 4090 S. Tamiami Trail has led to the closure of Jacaranda Blvd between Tamiami Trail and Corso Venetia Blvd—officials stated the fire is contained and poses no threat to homes or businesses. ABC 7

- ➤ Dive Into Reading, a summer program from Anna Maria Oyster Bars in partnership with the Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, is seeking volunteers to guide rising first-, second-, and third-graders from Title 1 schools at seven locations.
