On Friday, a 37-year-old Bradenton resident riding a motorcycle lost control on North Honore Avenue near a curve by Athletes Drive in Sarasota, struck a road sign, and was pronounced dead at the scene according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Sarasota County officials reopened the Edson Keith Farmhouse at Phillippi Estate Park on Wednesday after a long restoration that added new heating, plumbing, and easier access.
County leaders celebrated the historic landmark’s return with a ribbon cutting — the farmhouse, built in 1916, has served many roles over the years.
