GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sarasota City Commission asked their recruiting firm to send files from all 50 city manager candidates after they were unhappy with the shortlist provided, noting that few of the finalists met their expectations amid a shrinking pool and high living costs. They will study the files by early April and meet on April 11 to pick final candidates—if none fit, the search will start over. Observer
- ➤ Longboat Key held its 2025 Disaster Preparedness Seminar where Town Manager Howard Tipton and local meteorologists talked about how Hurricane Helene's storm surge damaged property and advised residents to set aside funds for repairs.
