- ➤ Gulf Coast Community Foundation launched its 'You Matter' kindness campaign on March 24 to encourage community members to share appreciation by handing out printed cards available at 1549 State St in downtown Sarasota and 601 Tamiami Trail S in Venice—each card includes a QR code that links to a Facebook page where people share their stories. - ➤ According to the Sarasota Police Department, one Sarasota resident drowned at Lido Beach after suffering a medical emergency while swimming on Sunday—beachgoers pulled the person from the water but could not save their life. FOX 13
- ➤ A Sarasota resident went for a swim north of Lido Public Beach on Sunday and suffered a medical emergency that led to his drowning despite swift rescue efforts by witnesses and county fire rescue—police said no more details are available. ABC 7

- ➤ A 13-year-old girl, Amani Francis, was found safe in Sarasota after being missing for four days, and her family felt relief when friends warned her mother that she had met an older stranger on Omegle—police had issued an alert based on those concerns. ABC 7
