- ➤ FDOT installed eight permanent asphalt speed tables near crosswalks at St. Armands Circle along John Ringling Boulevard & N. Boulevard of the Presidents overnight to slow traffic and improve pedestrian safety, with striping scheduled to finish by the end of March. Observer

- ➤ MacDill Air Force Base confirmed that three airmen were lost when a KC-135 refueling aircraft crashed over western Iraq on Mar. 12 — all six service members died and an investigation is underway. ABC 7

- ➤ On Friday, many Florida metro areas reported a small drop in regular gasoline prices following a historic coordinated oil reserve release, though prices remain up 83 cents on average since the Iran war began and diesel costs keep rising. Sarasota Herald-Tribune

- ➤ The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for its Youth Leadership Sarasota program class of 2027, a 10-month experience for rising high school juniors and seniors to gain leadership skills and community service hours. Applicants must apply by June 5. Observer
