- ➤ On Feb. 17, Longboat Key 100 awarded $100K to Feeding Empty Little Tummies Inc. at The Resort at Longboat Key Club. The nonprofit feeds local students + organizers plan to expand support programs soon. Observer
- ➤ On Feb. 19 at the new Mote Science Education Aquarium, the University Park Women’s Club raised $22,300 from its fundraiser for the Women’s Resource Center and Feeding Empty Little Tummies, with each nonprofit receiving $11,150. The club celebrated 25 years with silent auctions and craft cocktails. Observer
- ➤ On Feb. 21, about 150 families gathered at Greenbrook Adventure Park for the annual Lakewood Ranch Community Campout. Campers enjoyed science activities, a movie screening, live music, and food trucks (including headlamps and glowsticks) that brought the community together in a fun, relaxed evening. Observer
