At a Feb. 5 meeting in Longboat Key, the Kiwanis Club presented a record-breaking $123,900 check to the Children's Guardian Fund from its Lawn Party fundraiser.

Two invasive termite species (Asian and Formosan subterranean termites) are spreading north faster than expected and could put Florida homes at risk by mid‑century, according to a University of Florida study from Jan.
