- ➤ Lakewood Ranch CERT hosted the Celebrate Our First Responders event at Greenbrook Adventure Park on Feb. 7 so kids could learn CPR + meet first responders including members of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office and Fire Rescue. - ➤ A brushfire burned 120 acres in Saddle Oak Estates on Saturday, leaving scorched grass and prompting neighbors to worry about pet safety + fire crews quickly responded to the blaze. Officials advise homeowners to maintain defensible space to help ward off future fires. ABC 7

- ➤ Hundreds gathered for the Ukraine Festival in North Port to celebrate Ukrainian culture and raise funds for children in need, military hospitals and frontline evacuation groups — the event featured live Ukrainian music, food and art provided by the St. Andrews Ukrainians Cultural and Religious Center.
