- ➤ Two exhibitions now open at Ringling College of Art and Design and Michael Saunders and Co. trace Sarasota’s post-World II artist colony history, displaying historical artworks and a 200-foot mural (showing a timeline of local creative achievements) that reveal how veterans nurtured the community’s arts scene. - ➤ All Angels by the Sea is getting ready for its 6th annual New to You art sale, which runs from Feb. 2 to Feb. 26 in Longboat Key. The event will feature around 250 donated pieces including works by Cat Tesla and Ilkin Deniz, with all proceeds supporting Turning Points of Bradenton. Observer

- ➤ The Southwest Florida Water Management District announced that watering restrictions will take effect in 16 counties, including Sarasota, on Feb. 8 due to a 13-inch rainfall deficit. - ➤ Longboat Key town officials are testing residue linked to the new SRQ flight path — a change made in 2024. They hired engineering firm Vertex to analyze ultrafine particles and noise issues and plan to meet with airport CEO Paul Hoback soon. Observer
