- ➤ Sarasota County began an $8.75 million makeover of historic Snook Haven in May, moving the 1958 restaurant inland for a new food concession, covered seating deck (offering Myakka views) and bandshell. - ➤ SARA President Chris Goglia explained that residents are surveyed annually to capture opinions on preserving the historic charm of St. Armands Circle—he noted that the new $13.5 million stormwater upgrade should boost local investment and curb unwanted high-density developments. Observer

- ➤ Sarasota celebrates milestones as three cultural institutions mark their 100th anniversaries while the nation commemorates its 250th birthday.
